SAVE TIGERS

Tigers are the largest of all the Asian big cats, at the top the food chain, and are one of the most culturally important and beautiful animals on this planet. However, they are also among the most vulnerable and threatened species on Earth. But a surveillance commissioned by the government has found a steep fall in tiger population in the country. The report says that there are about 1300 to 1500 tigers left (on February 12, 2008) in Indian forests less than half of what it was six years ago. The tiger population in 2001 was over 3600.

savetiger

Join hands to save our tigers and support them, anyone and everyone can help if they put their mind to it. Saving the tiger means we save the forest since the tiger cannot live in places where trees have vanished. If we do not respond to the plight of wild tigers and the needs of the communities that share their home with tigers most of which is outside protected wildlife areas  we will witness the loss of one of the world’s most irreplaceable natural wonders of our lifetime
